These were with Sony previously, so I wonder if their rights to the Heisei-era films have lapsed as well.
Sony's rights to Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991) and Godzilla vs. Mothra (1992) expired in 2019 and their rights to Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II(1993), Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (1994), and Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995) expire(d) this year.

Of course my copy of the Second Run blu arrived today. At least this means it'll be easier for friends and family to watch it when the home video release eventually happens here.

It’s like a new announcement every other day. Who is showing all these? Who is going to see all these? How are all these going to be distributed for home viewing?

Not my business, I suppose!

I would think the Wender's will be a Criterion (not a Janus Contemporaries) release due to the 3D and 6k resolution. Has there been a UHD of a 3D releases of any kind?

Looks like the L'amour Fou restoration is distributed by Janus. Opening at Lincoln Center October 20th.

Is 3D compatible with the UHD spec? I think the closest we've gotten are dual 2D UHD/3D Blu-ray packages like for Alita: Battle Angel and Hugo

They’re really trying to make themselves competitors to Cinema Guild and Grasshopper Films, huh?

Considering that I don't think Bonello's last feature ever got picked up for US distribution at all, I welcome Janus/Sideshow's incursion into that ostensibly crowded space!

It’s got to be an attractive proposition for filmmakers and their sales agents knowing their film will get competent theatrical, streaming, and physical media distribution and probably a strong awards push too. Even A24 can’t guarantee that.

Awesome. Really looking forward to this one!

The L'amour fou news is great too – dare we dream of a Criterion release?

I'm hoping that Janus/Sideshow pick up the new Erice film as well. Insane that it hasn't been scooped up yet.

According to the listing for the retrospective being held at Lincoln Center, Janus have picked up Edward Yang's A Confucian Confusion and Mahjong!!!! I was hoping they would have also picked up Terrorizers but this is still very exciting!

It's great news that they've got Mahjong and A Confucian Confusion. I wonder what the deal is with rights to The Terrorizers as it seems unlikely that they'd pass over it.

It’s distributed already in the US by another company.
