Welp. I missed out on Chimes at Midnight and Short Cuts. I did get the Del Toro trilogy which was what I wanted most.

Do any Canadians on the forum go in for these flash sales? The cost of shipping alone doesn't seem to make it worthwhile.

I'm Canadian and I buy all my Criterion discs through the flash and B&N sales. It's only worth it if you buy a lot of discs in one order. This sale worked out to just under CAD$29 per movie for me with exchange. Not as great as these sales used to be, but still worth it.

Trilogía de Guillermo del Toro, McCabe & Mrs. Miller, Dekalog, Blood Simple, and Short Cuts for me.

Forgot about Beyond Valley of Dolls and wanted to add that on there but Woman Under Dunes sold out (and i'm a little sour about the box set not being released), so might wait till B&N sale.

Sale just got extended another six hours. And here I thought I'd successfully resisted temptation...

I sort of chuckled to myself when I saw that. They're sold out of so much stuff.

And here I was wondering why the fast sellers were the improbable Ballad of a Soldier and And God Created Woman.

Calm down, its not a flash sale.

But for those, like me, who've written off Barnes & Noble and their death of any kind of coupon that can be used towards Criterions - you're probably likely to turn to the biannual Criterion.com flash sales for your purchases. Thus:

If you buy a Criterion.com gift certificate from now until the end of the year - you get double loyalty points on that gift certificate purchase. So its money you'll spend anyway in the future + you get an additional 10% back out of it (its about the same as a B&N 20% off coupon).

Well, well, well ... back in print with a slimmer case, but still no blu-ray.

Posting in this thread during February is like posting in the cover art thread on the 15th.

It happened on Valentine's Day in 2012, so it could easily happen again on that very date this year

I guess there is a chance the flash sale could happen today going by past Feb dates. What time does it usually begin?

It's at noon EST, though one year it was at 2 p.m.

I'd still wager they'll wait for next week or later so they can center it around the Before Trilogy as the sale's centerpiece, though.

I see that The Before Trilogy is now (11:43 EST) available at their store. I would anticipate the sale perhaps even this week (tomorrow or Friday).

Of course, now that I actually think it through, I can't see them doing this on a Friday as no one would want to deal with closing it down on a Saturday.

Every time someone posts in this thread, they put off the sale another two days.

Great! Then if I keep posting, Blow-Up will be available during the sale!

They are surely putting off the sale until this year's Baggu model is ready to go #BagguIsBeautiful
