He's been Soderbergh's go to guy for some movies. Totally down for this!

I was going to pass on Bond 25 but the Fukanaga/Burns combo got me interested again.

Re: James Bond Franchise (1962-∞)
The release date has been bumped up to next April. That's got to be a first for the franchise, at least within my lifetime.

Re: James Bond Franchise (1962-∞)
That seems like a nontraditional release date for a Bond film.
It also seems perhaps a bit ambitious, since as far as I know the movie hasn’t even started filming and probably isn’t even cast yet.

Re: James Bond Franchise (1962-∞)
It was pushed back (from February), not up.
Bond movies have had relatively short post-production periods compared to most similar megafranchises in recent years. It probably is cast, but they won’t announce details until filming starts in six weeks or so. It’s still nontraditional for a well-established November franchise but UA (who are now distributing the movie) probably need to get something else besides Creed that will make big profit out ASAP considering most of their and (distribution partner) Annapurna’s slate has been deeply in the red.

My guess is it'll probably wind up being a November 2020 release.

Gosh, wonder why the producers wouldn’t go for that.

Big fan of Boyle, but I'm glad he left if that's the case. I just hope the delays don't bring upon another rushed installment that ends up being dull like Spectre.

Re: James Bond Franchise (1962-∞)
Perhaps I'm mistaken but isn't Fukunaga rather specific as to what he wants? He must be meshing well with Broccoli because she's very specific about certain things (To the point of comedy in my opinion.). I realize there is some integrity that must be maintained when constructing a decades old franchise but I would hope they'd be willing to do something a little outside the box for Craig's last outing.

Re: James Bond Franchise (1962-∞)
What's funny about this is that the Sun reported back in August that killing Bond was Daniel Craig and Barbara Broccoli's idea, and Boyle left the project because he refused to do it. Which British tabloid's anonymous sources are we to believe?

Script getting a polish by Phoebe Waller-Bridge
With so many cooks in this kitchen, it'll be a miracle if this doesn't turn out to be a mess, let alone good.“sources close to the film in the US said that while in the country she discussed with Craig how to improve the script of Bond 25, which the 007 actor felt needed some “polishing,” by introducing more humour and the offbeat style of writing she is best known for.”

Paraphrasing someone on Twitter earlier
Bond: Do you expect me to talk?
Bond (to camera): He'll say no, he expects me to die
Villain: No Mr Bond, I expect you to die
Bond (to camera): See, told you

I'm more excited about Felix coming back - I've hoped for decades that Leiter would actually get to go on a mission with Bond, not just a part, or a scene but go out and work in the field with him.

Craig injury suspends filming
Might be a blessing in disguise as this gives them time to finesse the script. Crew members have been quoted (admittedly in the tabloids) as calling this production a shitshow with no completed script.

'Bond 25' Accident Leaves Crewmember Injured, Pinewood Stage Damaged
THR wrote:The Sun newspaper claimed that crew were testing a stunt involving a fireball in a laboratory when the incident took place.
"There were three huge explosions and it’s blown part of the Bond stage roof off and some wall panels off the stage," a source told the paper. "There were three loud explosions, one after another, and a member of the crew was lying on the floor outside the building injured."

Re: James Bond Franchise (1962-∞)
Pity that MGM will never allow a really candid BTS documentary (think Alien 3 extras) to be made/released. Might be more interesting than the finished film itself.
