Locarno released their official selection today, among which are (I think) the first English-language details of the new Radu Jude. It's titled Do Not Expect Too Much of the End of the World, runs 163 minutes, and stars Nina Hoss.

Ladj Ly's Les Indésirables will be having its world premiere at TIFF. Here is the official synopsis:

Set in the suburbs on the outskirts of Paris, Les Indésirables is a timely tale of revolution, which beautifully captures a pivotal moment in history. Les Indésirables stars Alexis Manenti, Jeanne Balibar, Steve Tientcheu, Anta Diaw, and Aristote Luyindula. After the sudden death of a town’s mayor, Pierre (Manenti), an idealistic young doctor, is appointed to replace him. He intends to continue the policy of his predecessor, who dreamed of rehabilitating this working-class neighbourhood. Haby (Diaw), a young French woman of Malian origin living in one of the dilapidated tower blocks, refuses to see her family driven out of the neighbourhood where she grew up.

Apparently Hamaguchi has edited two completely different versions, the other called Gift with a live score by Ishibashi.

I think About Dry Grasses has no premiere designation at NYFF at all, which means it is likely playing Telluride (or possibly but less likely Fantastic Fest), along with Andrew Haigh's All of Us Strangers, Lanthimos' Poor Things, Annie Baker's directorial debut Janet Planet, Kaurismäki's Fallen Leaves, Wenders' Perfect Days, Felipe Gálvez' The Settlers, and Rohrwacher's La Chimera.

Toronto's announcements previously indicated that Telluride will also have Triet's Anatomy of a Fall, Glazer's The Zone of Interest, Christos Nikou's Fingernails, Errol Morris' The Penguin Tunnel, Kitty Green's The Royal Hotel, Payne's The Holdovers, George C. Wolfe's Rustin, Chin and Vaserhelyi's Nyad, and Hawke's Wildcat. Jeff Nichols' The Bikeriders and Emerald Fennell's Saltburn have both been heavily hinted to premiere there as well, and there are tantalizing rumors that Scorsese will bring Killers of the Flower Moon and Larrain's El Conde will make the trip from Venice.

Looking pretty stacked for the 50th anniversary of the festival...

I should have said that people on another forum found phantom pages/listings on the TIFF website a couple days ago, one of which was for About Dry Grasses, which is why it was mentioned. La Chimera is listed as a North American Premiere on the TIFF website, so it's unlikely that it goes to Telluride (unless they decide to add it in last minute, which I believe has happened once before).

Good point about La Chimera, which would mean it’ll be at Fantastic Fest (though you are correct that Telluride has scooped Toronto’s premieres on several occasions)

The film festival has blown through town, and two and a half weeks later, out of 135 films from 40 countries, here’s what stuck with me.

I caught Tiger Stripes and Mami Wata at the Fantasia Film festival, and enjoyed them. Mami Wata had some of the most gorgeous photography I’ve seen in a long time, especially the contrast it makes between the actors’ black skin and the stark white of their traditional make up. Stunning to look at.

Kicking myself for skipping River. I saw "time loop" and disregarded it (I've seen enough time loop movies), but your capsule tells me this was a mistake.
