I’m going to take Criterion posting on Instagram about the early career of Claire Denis to mean at least Chocolat is forthcoming, but hopefully a lot more of her early (and later) work too.
Or that they just announced her most recent film.

Criterion tweeted this photo asking folks to guess the film... no one on twitter seems to have guessed it. I can't place it.

Thrilled to have a visit today from Mia Hansen-Løve ✨

Probably just her swinging by while she's in the US, but I'd love a release of Father of My Children, which came from IFC on DVD, or Eden, which only had a US DVD by Broadgreen, whoever that is. This should be a good video, too, whenever it comes out. She was very articulate and amusing at the several in-person screenings I went to earlier this year.

When was the last time they posted a picture of someone in the closet and actually followed up with a video of that visit?

Let's hope it actually has summer colour timing!

I think he may also be the first person in the Closet who has noted different formats on camera, seeming to make sure to take the re-release Blu-ray edition of Rififi!

I'm quite sure the team checks afterwards with the visitors that they got the format they want, while not really caring during the video in order to keep things spontaneous and focused on the movies themselves.

From Janus Films' twitter:

I know he is most likely that he is just visiting, but it'd be nice if his work was made available in the US.

Ah, it is. Likely just because it is streaming on the Criterion Channel until the end of the month.

The Criterion Twitter posted and quickly deleted this. Not sure about its relevance.

Most likely nothing. Just another in a long line of filmmakers stopping by their office. But it could be a Criterion release of Black Rain or Rônin-gai (Criterion definitely has the rights to this.)
